[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Station Report, 9/5/24

What a joy to have a cool day!  I'd forgotten the pleasure of ending a banding day not being completely wiped out due to heat and humidity!  Hoping for more days like this as the season progresses........

Thirty-three birds banded.  Wilson's Warblers continue to lead the way, as expected at this time of year:

Western Wood-pewee 1
Willow Flycatcher 2
House Wren 1
Gray Catbird 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 1 (FOS, right on schedule!)
Common Yellowthroat 2
Wilson's Warbler 20
Green-tailed Towhee 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 1 (FOS, probably won't see another for a couple of weeks)
Lazuli Bunting 1

We are banding Tuesday through Sunday mornings (closed Mondays).  There is a public session most weekday mornings from 7:30-8:30, and three time slots on weekends, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m. There is a $7 fee and registration is required – click here to register!

Let me know if you have any questions,
