[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- September 14, 2024

It hardly feels like Fall season when it still gets into the 90s by afternoon. However, some of the birds are still moving south. We had 12 bird species today with Orange-crowned Warbler showing up in more than one individual.

Wilson's Warbler- 12
Orange-crowned Warbler- 2
Dusky Flycatcher- 1
Least Flycatcher-1
Western Wood-pewee- 2
House Wren- 1
Clay-Colored Sparrow- 1
Vesper Sparrow- 1
American Goldfinch- 1
Blue Grosbeak- 2
Green-tailed Towhee- 2
Gray Catbird- 3

No recaptures

The Banding station will be closed tomorrow and reopen at sunrise on Monday. It looks to be another week in high 80s to 90s. We shall see what the birds do.

Be sure to sign up on the Aiken Audubon Website (www.aikenaudubon.com) for gaining access to the ranch. 

Stop by the banding station if you are on the ranch and share your sightings.
