[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Western Slope Banding Station Report- Sept. 3-7, 2024

We've wrapped up a good first week of banding at Ridgway State Park! Our season began with a nice showing of expected migrants, as well as a few residents. We banded 89 individuals of 19 species, and recaptured two birds originally banded in fall 2023.

This week, we hosted over 100 students in three school groups from Ouray and Montrose counties, a small group from Montrose Community Center, and had a great turn out for our public day on Saturday.

The station is located at the Dallas Creek section of Ridgway SP. We have net runs 7am-12:30, and we will be here through Saturday 9/14. Visitors are always welcome, although we recommend visiting before 9am as we have school groups every day this week.

You can find our banded species listed below. And if you are interested in additional species we are seeing at the park this week, you can check out our eBird trip report for the week. https://ebird.org/tripreport/273444?view=checklists
