[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- September 6, 2024

It was a pleasant day on the ranch with cool to mild temps. A few birds stuck around from yesterday but all gained fat and weight overnight through this morning. Bird highlights were the Green-tailed Towhees and another Northern Waterthrush.

Wilson's Warbler- 14

MacGillivray's Warbler- 1

Northern Waterthrush- 1

Dusky Flycatcher-1

Hammond's Flycatcher- 2

Least Flycatcher- 1

Willow Flycatcher- 1

Western Wood-pewee- 2

House Wren- 1

Lincoln's Sparrow- 2

Vesper Sparrow- 3

Green- tailed Towhee- 3

Western Tanager- 1

Brown Thrasher- 1

American Robin- 1

Common Grackle- 1

4 Recaptures and 1 Return 

Wilson's Warbler- 3

Northern Waterthrush -1

Brown Thrasher - return- banded originally at Chico Basin Ranch last fall as a Hatching year bird- It is one year old and counting...

Thanks to the birders who shared their bird sightings with me today. The banding station will be open tomorrow sunrise to 11:30 am and closed on Sunday.

The station will open up Monday at sunrise.

 Be sure to sign up on the Aiken Audubon Website (www.aikenaudubon.com) for gaining permission to the ranch. 

Stop on by the station if you are on the ranch and share your sightings.
