[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- September 12, 2024

Glad to hear there are birds elsewhere- there were not many birds at the Ranch today. Clear Spring Ranch had lots of birds around and I am guessing Barr Lake had another good banding day. If we all had a day like Chico did today I would wonder what is going on with the birds. Maybe the Hurricane Francine/ Tropical storm will blow in some different birds. So be on the lookout.

5 New Birds
Wilson's Warbler- 1
Hammond's Flycatcher- 1
House Wren- 1
Blue Grosbeak- 1
Green Towhee- 1

2 Recaptures
Wilson's Warbler
House Wren

Thanks to the birders that came out that shared the Sage Thrasher sighting. They mentioned that there was @22 by trees along road west of banding station.

The banding station will be open this week through Saturday from Sunrise until @ 11:30am.
Be sure to sign up on the Aiken Audubon Website (www.aikenaudubon.com) for gaining access to the ranch.

Stop by the banding station if you are on the ranch and share your sightings.

Have a good day,
Julie Shieldcastle
