[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- September 13, 2024

You gotta love those Wilson's Warbler! Have you ever watched them searching for food? They hang upside down and always look like they are on the hunt for insects. If it were not for Wilson's Warblers, it would be a slow bird day. However, who can complain when you put up the nets and a Rock Wren pops into the net beside you! Such a beautiful bird with stripes and spots!
31 New Birds Banded
Wilson's Warbler- 22
Rock Wren- 1
House Wren- 1
Lincoln's Sparrow- 2
Swainson's Thrush- 1
Green-tailed Towhee- 1
Gray Catbird- 2

1 Recapture- gained weight and fat from yesterday's banding.
Hammond's Flycatcher

The banding station will be open tomorrow from Sunrise until @ 11:30am and reopen on Monday.
Be sure to sign up on the Aiken Audubon Website (www.aikenaudubon.com) for gaining access to the ranch.

Stop by the banding station if you are on the ranch and share your sightings.

Have a good day,
Julie Shieldcastle
