[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- September 18, 2024

After the cold front came through, I would have thought there would be another push of birds at Chico Basin Ranch. Today there was not much. It appears that the birds left overnight and not many came in to replace them. The birds we captured today were in good condition. There just was not many of them. Once again, if it were not for Wilson's Warblers we would have slim pickings/bandings.
We had a couple 6th grade classes visit the banding station today. At least we had a couple Wilson's Warblers to show and talk about migration with them.
21 New Banded Birds
Wilson's Warbler- 12
Orange-crowned Warbler- 2
MacGillivray's Warbler- 1
Dusky Flycatcher- 1
Hammond's Flycatcher- 1
House Wren- 1

No Recaptures

The Banding station will be open tomorrow through Saturday from Sunrise until @11:30 AM. Remember to go to the Aiken Audubon Society website for registering for birding access to the Ranch.

Have a good day,
