[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Report, 9/18/24

We arrived at Barr this morning to find the entire park and surrounding area covered with a dense, low-hanging fog.  It finally burned off about halfway through the morning and we quickly returned to the unseasonably hot weather we've been experiencing.  None of this appeared to have any impact on the birds - there were few around today.  Only banded 9 birds:

House Wren 1
Wilson's Warbler 4
Chipping Sparrow 3
Lincoln's Sparrow 1

A quick look at prior years suggests that at this time we should be seeing, in addition to WIWAs, a nice mix of other warblers, especially Yellow-rumpeds.

We are banding Tuesday through Sunday mornings (closed Mondays).  There is a public session most weekday mornings from 7:30-8:30, and three time slots on weekends, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m.  There is a $7 fee and registration is required – click here to register!

Let me know if you have any questions,
