Looks like I’m the last of the 3 Front Range banding stations to report today, and I can describe Barr as “more of the same”. Nice day, relatively few birds. We also had LOTS of visitors, who enjoyed the variety of species that we had among our 23 new captures:
Swainson’s Thrush 1
Hermit Thrush 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 1 (Mixed in with the flock of Audubon’s….see next entry)
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon 7
Wilson’s Warbler 1
Green-tailed Towhee 1
Song Sparrow 2
Lincoln’s Sparrow 1
Gambel’s White-crowned Sparrow 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Slate-colored 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 1
Dark-eyed Junco, Unidentified 1 (Very young)
House Sparrow 3
Again, here is our schedule for the balance of the season: Closed Mon (10/1) because we have a late afternoon group; then closed Thurs (10/4) and Thurs (10/11). Otherwise open daily, weather permitting, through Sun 10/14.
