Adams County:
--A hatch year m Tennessee Warbler was banded by McBurney at the Barr Lake Banding station on September 21.
--McBurney reported a Tennesssee Warbler and BAY-BREASTED WARBLER were banded at the Barr Lake Banding station on September 24.
Bent County:
--An imm m RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported by Duane Nelson coming to his feeder in Las Animas on September 25. Contact Duane at dnelson1 AT centurytel.net if you want to try to see the bird.
--A sub-ad dark morph REDDISH EGRET was reported by Duane Nelson at Lake Hasty below the dam at John Martin on September 25.
Boulder County:
--A juv Short-billed Dowitcher was reported by Schmoker at Teller Lake #5 (also known as North Teller Lake) in Boulder on September 9. Arnesen reported that the Short-billed Dowitcher continues at Teller Lake #5 on September 21.
--A juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Gent on the S shore of Sixmile Reservoir in Boulder on September 15. Waltman reported juv Sabine's Gull at Sixmile Reservoir on September 24.
--A juv American Golden-Plover was reported by Severs at Lagerman Reservoir on September 22.
--A good number of Broad-winged Hawks were reported by Severs migrating in SW Longmont on September 23.
--A Field Sparrow was reported by Floyd at Greenlee Preserve in Lafayette on September 24.
--A probable American Golden-Plover was reported by Floyd at Panama Reservoir on September 25.
Denver County:
--An imm Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Roller at Washington Park in Denver on September 17. It was on the east shore of Grasmere Lake. Roller reported on September 21 that the Chestnut-sided Warbler continues at Washington Park. Walbek reported on September 21 that there are 2 Chestnut-sided Warblers at Washington Park.
Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--A probable ARCTIC TERN was reported by Walbek at Chatfield SP on September 25. Walbek reported that the ARCTIC TERN continued at Chatfield far from shore on September 26.
El Paso County:
--A PHILADELPHIA VIREO and 1-2 Northern Parulas were reported by Pals at Fountain Creek Regional Park on September 24.
El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--Brown reported that a different Wood Thrush was banded on September 21 at Chico Basin Ranch.
--Gobris reported that 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were banded at Chico Basin on September 22.
--Hinds reported White-eyed Vireo and Wood Thrush at the Banding Station at Chico Basin on September 23.
--A hatch yr Ovenbird and 2 ad f Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were reported by Brown at the banding station at Chico Basin Ranch on September 24.
--At Chico Basin Ranch, Brown reported that a hatch year Magnolia Warbler was banded and Bill Maynard reported a hatch year Scarlet Tanager on September 25.
--At Chico Basin Ranch on September 26, Brown reported at the banding station: 2 hatch year m Black-throated Blue Warblers, hatch year f Scarlet Tanager, and f Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Fremont County:
--An imm Eastern Phoebe was reported by Moss on September 21 and ad Eastern Phoebe and Black Phoebe on September 22 at Florence River Park.
--A f Blackburnian Warbler, Black and Eastern Phoebe were reported by Kosar at Florence River Park on September 23.
--Eastern and Black Phoebe were reported by Moss at Florence River Park on September 27.
Jefferson County:
--A Palm Warbler and 2 Blackpoll Warblers were reported by Chavez at Belmar Historic Park in Lakewood on September 23. On September 24, Sanders reported 2 Palm Warblers at Belmar. On September 25, Chavez reported 2 Palm Warblers at Belmar. On September 26, Kibbe reported 1 Palm Warbler at Belmar.
Kit Carson County:
--At Flager SWA on September 23, Mark Peterson reported: Red-bellied Woodpecker, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, Tennessee Warbler, Nashville Warbler, 2 "western" Palm Warblers, Ovenbird, EASTERN TOWHEE, and 2 White-throated Sparrows.
Larimer County:
--Leatherman reported 14 Broad-winged Hawks migrating over Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Collins on September 23.
--A Palm warbler was reported by Meyer at Coyote Ridge Natural Area SW of Fort Collins on September 24.
--On the trail between Taft and Wilson in Loveland on September 26, Coley reported Fox Sparrow.
Logan County:
--An imm F CAPE MAY WARBLER was reported by Mlodinow at the Overland Museum (Fee) in Sterling on September 22. The museum is N of I-76 on US 6.
Mesa County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Stigen on the new section of Colorado River Trail to Walter Walker SWA on September 24.
--An Ovenbird has been visiting the yard of Larry Arnold in Grand Junction since September 22 and continued on September 25.

--A Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Larry Arnold visiting his yard on September 25.
Montrose County:
--A BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO was reported by Dexter in Nucla on September 22. It was last seen 200 yards S of the intersection of East 5th Ave and Ash Street on the west side of the Road.
Morgan County:
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Mlodinow at Andrick Ponds SWA on September 20.
--3 American Golden-Plovers were reported by Komar and the Fort Collins Audubon field trip to Jackson SP on September 22.
--8 American Golden-Plovers, juv Sabine's Gull, and Chestnut-sided Warbler were reported by the Audubon Society of Greater Denver field trip led by Kibbe to Jackson SP on September 23.
Phillips County:
--A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was reported by Mlodinow near the High School in Holyoke on September 22.
--At the Haxtun Sewage Ponds on September 22, Mlodinow reported an early Lapland Longspur.
--At Haxtun City Park on September 22, Mlodinow reported imm Chestnut-sided Warbler, imm Indigo Bunting, and imm Broad-winged Hawk.
Pueblo County:
--At Osprey Picnic Area in Rock Canyon Percival reported on September 21 BLUE -HEADED VIREO, PHILADELPIA VIREO, and YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER.
--A PHILADELPHIA VIREO was reported by Percival on the N side of the River near the Swim Beach at Lake Pueblo SP on September 22.
--At the Osprey Picnic area in Rock Canyon, Percival reported on September 22, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, and imm/f Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
--A "western" Palm Warbler was reported by Percival near the Snakeskin Picnic Area at Lake Pueblo SP on the S side of the river on September 23.
--At the Osprey Picnic area, Percival reported on September 23, Tennessee Warbler, YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, Blackpoll Warbler, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, and 2 Eastern Phoebes.
Routt County:
--A Sabine's Gull was reported by Piombino at Stagecoach Reservoir on September 20. A Sabine's Gull was reported by Moulton at Stagecoach Reservoir on September 21.
Washington County:
--At Last Chance on September 22, Dan Maynard reported Nashville Warbler, Ovenbird, and White-throated Sparrow.
--At Last Chance on September 23, Kellner reported Nashville Warbler and Swamp Sparrow.
Weld County:
--2 Palm Warblers were reported by Severs at Union Reservoir (fee) at the S end of the
reservoir on September 25.
The DFO field trip for Saturday, September 29, will be to Chatfield State Park led by Ed Holub (303-979-2194). Meet the leader at 0730 at the Swim Beach parking lot for a half day of birding. Lunch optional; a scope might be helpful.
The DFO field trip for Sunday, September 30 will be to Eastern Plains for Migrants led by Norm Erthal (303-917-2596). Meet the leader at 0630 at the Division of Wildlife office, 60th and Broadway to form carpools and head out for a full day of birding on the eastern plains including Crow Valley. Bring lunch, water, and snacks, and be prepared to pay for gas if you are a passenger. Please notify the leader if you plan to participate.
