I returned to Florence River Park yesterday and found it very birdy (best in a long time). There were still good numbers of Yellow-rumped Warblers feeding on the leaf mining insect infestation (more on that in a later post) with continuing Orange-crowned and Wilson's Warblers. The Eastern Phoebe in 1st Basic plumage was still there as was the Black Phoebe. I found a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, a latish male Western Tanager and first of fall Ruby-crowned Kinglet. And before I left a flock of about 30 migrating White-throated Swifts flew stopped in (overhead) to feed for awhile). I have posted photos of the Black Phoebe (finally saw it close enough to get a decent photo), the Rose-breasted Grosbeak and the Ruby-crowned Kinglet (including one with it's crested raised as much as I have seen it) and a couple of nice shots of swifts in flight.
