Brad Tyler and I spend most of the day at Fountain Creek Regional Park, with a short stop at Big Johnson Res. When we saw birds, we saw a whole bunch of birds and the birding was fantastic. We could hardly keep up with all the movement. At other times it was very quiet and slow. I don't know if this means that there were waves of birds coming through or if you just needed to find the mixed flocks that were in the park. We saw nearly 60 species of birds.
Best birds at Big Johnson were an Ibis sp. and Ferruginous Hawk.
Best birds at Fountain Creek Regional Park were a Philadelphia Vireo and a 1-2 Northern Parulas. Other warblers observed include a several Wilson's, Yellow-rumped, Townsend's, many Orange-crowneds and a couple Common Yellowthroats. We also had a couple Warbling Vireo and Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
Fun Birding,
