I arrived at Belmar Park around 4:00 PM this afternoon in search of the Palms and Blackpolls. I ran into Ira Sanders, he told me he had just seen an Ash-throated Flycatcher (very late) working the east side of Kountze, after a short discussion Karleen Schofield arrived and soon thereafter Ira called me over to see the Flycatcher. The bird was very cooperative staying in one place for over ten minutes, exceptional views. Norm Lewis showed up and was able to also get good views of the bird. We then traveled around the lake and found a single Palm Warbler on the south side. No luck on the Blackpoll. Nothing else of note. There are still many YRWA present. Thanks Ira for the Ash-throated, and thanks to Mark Chavez for your report on the Palm and Blackpoll.
