Barb and I saw a flock of about 20 White-tailed Ptarmigan drift across the slopes of Hinsdale Peak yesterday morning. They were about half into their winter whites. At the top of this 14'er for novices we enjoyed a 360 degree panorama of the San Juan Range, but not a bit of snow as far as our eyes could see.
