[cobirds] White-tailed Ptarmigan, Hinsdale County

Barb and I saw a flock of about 20 White-tailed Ptarmigan drift across the slopes of Hinsdale Peak yesterday morning. They were about half into their winter whites. At the top of this 14'er for novices we enjoyed a 360 degree panorama of the San Juan Range, but not a bit of snow as far as our eyes could see. Aspens are starting to turn in the high country.

Good birding,
Tom Wilberding
Boulder County
