[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Chico Basin Ranch Banding Report 5/20

Another fairly mellow day today, with winds picking up in the late morning and shutting us down a bit early. We recaptured the Kentucky Warbler yet again, its still hanging around and not putting on much fat so far. The other highlight was a Ladder-backed Woodpecker (seen and heard often here but rarely caught) that was banded in 2019 as an older bird (hatched 2017 or earlier) making it at least 4 years old now. 19 birds total of 13 species:

House Wren - 1
Dusky Flycatcher - 2
Willow Flycatcher - 1
'Audubon's' Yellow-rumped Warbler - 1
Lincoln's Sparrow - 2
MacGillivray's Warbler - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 3
Brown-headed Cowbird - 1
Gray Catbird - 2
Bullocks Oriole - 1 new and 1 recap
Kentucky Warbler - 1 recap
Brown Thrasher - 1 recap
Ladder-backed Woodpecker - 1 recap

We are open 3 days per week (Friday - Sunday) through May 30th. Chico Basin Ranch is once again open to the public and visitors are welcome at the banding station, click here for more details on visiting. We are opening nets at about 5:30am and continuing for 5 hours, depending on weather.
