Hi all

I was out mowing our landscaped backyard habitat starting with western half. As I moved to begin mowing eastern side a Long-eared Owl flew out by me from one of our trees at eye-level to continue roosting in our western windbreak. It remained there until dark. I believe our third one in being up here. Pretty cool.

More colors of spring new from previous report ...
  • Lazuli Bunting - 2
  • Green-tailed Towhee - 1
  • Brown Thrasher - 1
Elsewhere in Weld County ...
  • Large group of assorted gulls loafing in field flood across from Weld County Landfill along Hwy 14 near Severance
  • About 150-200 Red-necked Phalarope at Loloff Reservoir along with a lone Forster's Tern

Working on other photos.
