Grandview Cemetery, west terminus of Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins, in the drizzle between 8:45 and 11:30am:
White-throated Sparrow (2) both birds appear to be immatures molting into adult plumage (tan striped heads, bright white throats, stripes on flanks and somewhat across upper breast)
White-crowned Sparrow (4a)
Spotted Towhee (1m with dark brown eye)
Hermit Thrush (at least 1, possibly 2)
Western Tanager (2) eating European buckthorn fruits
Townsend's Warbler (at least 1)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (several)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (several)
Chipping Sparrow (several)
Falcon (flyover, suspect Merlin, seemed stiffer and chunkier than kestrel)
Almost all the above sparrows, thrushes and tanagers were in the southeastern corner between the road into the shop area and the pump house along the ditch associated with buckthorn and cotoneaster bushes with fruits. Warblers, kinglets were in elms along the south boundary of cemetery with golf course, up high, difficult to see well.
Total of 24 species.
