[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Report Chico Basin Ranch - 9/17/18

Banding today was steadily busy, even when I closed nets at 11:20. Today's totals were 79 birds banded of 18 species, which is the most birds banded and the most species in a day so far this season. I caught the season's first Dark-eyed Junco (Pink-sided) and White-crowned Sparrow (Mountain). 

Here's the summary of newly banded birds for the day:

Clay-colored Sparrow: 1

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 2

Wilson's Warbler: 40

Orange-crowned Warbler: 10

Hammond's Flycatcher: 1

House Wren: 3

Chipping Sparrow: 6

Dusky Flycatcher: 1

Western Flycatcher: 1

Lincoln's Sparrow: 3

Pink-sided Junco: 1

Cassin's Vireo: 1

Hermit Thrush: 2

Blue Grosbeak: 1

Mountain White-crowned Sparrow: 1

Gray Catbird: 2

American Robin: 1

Brown Thrasher: 2

You are welcome to visit the banding station. I'll be banding through the first week of October and nets will be open 6 days a week (Monday through Saturday). This week I will be opening nets at 6:50 and banding until 11:50 weather permitting.
