[cobirds] Three-toed Woodpecker & Harlan's Hawk - Rampart Range Rd

Finally got the American Three-toed Woodpecker (ATTW) at Rampart Range Rd & Hwy 67 SW of Sedalia in Douglas county yesterday. 3rd times a charm. Got photos, video and audio. Photos and audio in the eBird list below. Video on the next link. One poorer photo of the ATTW shows it pulling a grub out of the dead pine. The audio is of him chipping away at the bark and digging holes looking for grubs. Several photos show the deep holes he digs to get the grubs. Looks like a lot of work to me, but it was a pretty good sized grub.

I had it in the dead pines about .2 miles east of the intersection down the hill. Good parking at the Rampart Range trail head for the ATVs. Did not get the Red Crossbills this trip. Like Hugh Kingery said, lots of Red-brested Nuthatches and Gray-headed Juncos.

Also, in the list are photos of a Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk. Did not know they were in the mountains.
