Hello Colorado Birders:
-- The fresh snow and drop in temperatures after the cold front Thursday brought a significant influx of rosy-finches to my feeders here in Telluride. I witnessed a feeding frenzy Friday and Saturday with about 20 pounds of hulled sunflower consumed both days. All three* species were observed and over 1000 individuals (almost entirely Brown-capped). The blue skies and rising temperature today has thankfully dispersed/calmed them down quite a bit.
Photos and numbers can be viewed at my eBird checklist from Friday here:
Good birding,
Eric
