I birded with the El Paso County Monday birder group this morning at a
cold and calm (finally) Pueblo Reservoir. Not too many birds, a few
nice ones though. A Red-necked Grebe at the North Shore Marina was
the best bird, two Common Loons, Horned, Eared, and Western Grebes
around the lake. Mountain Bluebirds seem to be around more now. We
saw Prairie Falcon and a Ferruginous Hawk at the Reservoir as well.
We made an attempt for the Long-tailed Duck from last week, and didn't
see it, or any other ducks it was with. Very few gulls in the morning
at the South Shore Marina, just Ring-billed and Herring. Not sure if
there are more gulls around, since the warm weather recently, the
gulls may have moved north or east or somewhere.
