[cobirds] Black Swift, Boulder County

All,

In order to run in a new pair of hiking boots, I went to the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park this morning.  I didn't see or hear the family of Stub-tailed Wrens at Calypso Cascades, which was last reported by Christian Nunes.  However, at Ouzel Falls there was what I presumed is a large juvenile (white spots on the primaries) still sitting on the nest, which is under an overhang left (west) of the falls.  There were also Broad-tailed, Black-chinned, Rufous and Calliope Hummingbirds at the feeders at the Fawn Brook Inn in Allens Park.

So, if you wish to actually see, and study, a rare bird in Boulder County in the next few days, then I highly recommend the very pleasant hike up to Ouzel Falls, RMNP.

Cheers,  Peter Gent.
Boulder.
