[cobirds] Durango Barrow's Goldeneye and Winter Wren

Yesterday, Christmas Eve, Danny and Sally Paez and I walked on the Animas River in Durango from River Road north to 9th Street. About a half mile north of the River Road bridge we found a vocal WINTER WREN. Follow the river path a short ways until the "street" lamps stop and the trail starts up a small hill. Then walk off the trail towards the river. The wren was seen in this area in dense brush. Further north a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was with a flock of Commons. This was south of the BMX Track near a green bench labeled "Gary's Bench". Documentation was obtained for both birds if they are of interest to local or state-level records keepers. We also had nice looks at a Prairie Falcon.

Good Birding and Happy Holidays
