[cobirds] RMBO Barr Banding Station Report, 9/13/12

The change in weather did not cause a major change in either number or composition of birds at Barr – still lots of Wilson’s and a handful of other species.  Also, a ton (19) of recaps….lots of Wilson’s that hung around during the rain and were out and about this morning.  However, we (and the birds) were happy to have the cooler weather today.  Here’s the breakdown of the 40 new birds:

Western Wood-pewee 1

Dusky Flycatcher              1

Black-capped Chickadee               1

House Wren       1

Swainson’s Thrush          1

Gray Catbird       1

Orange-crowned Warbler            1

Townsend’s Warbler      1

Common Yellowthroat  1

Wilson’s Warbler              30

Song Sparrow    1

(Didn’t realize until I typed the list that it was 1 of everything except Wilson’s…….)

Again, our schedule for the balance of the banding season: Open 6 days a week through Sunday, October 14, weather permitting. Our closed days will be Wed 9/19, Wed 9/26, Thurs 10/4, and Wed
10/10.
