[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch-Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-9/11/2025

Since it is 9/11, the birds were somewhere else. Maybe there were commemorating the tragedy of 9/11 some 24 years ago. The silence at the banding station was symbolic of the day. Double digits were not banded. It felt like a late summer day. Why would birds migrate with a southerly wind? And the recaptures could have been blown back north.

5 New Banded Birds
Hammond's Flycatcher
Dusky Flycatcher
Lincoln's Sparrow
Gray Catbird
Brown Thrasher

3 Recaptures
American Redstart
Northern House Wren
Swainson's Thrush

Hoping for a better bird day tomorrow. If interested in birding or visiting the ranch, please sign up on the Aiken Audubon website. www.aikenaudubon.com

All the Best,
