[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Station 9/12/25

Our low numbers continued.  We did start the day  with a Sharp-shinned Hawk, which could have contributed early on to the lack of bird activity, but the area was very quiet all morning.  We banded only 4 birds this morning:

Sharp-shinned Hawk 1

Warbling Vireo 1 (quite yellow for a WAVI, but was a western subspecies by measurements)

Orange-crowned Warbler 1

Wilson's Warbler 1

Come visit!  Our visitor hours: Weekends we are running 3 sessions, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m.  Most weekdays (Tues through Fri) there is a 7:30 to 8:30 session.   These are small group sessions (15 or fewer visitors), and a great way to learn more about the species that move through the front range in the fall.  There is a $7 fee and registration is required - click here to register.

BUT A NOTE:  Tomorrow/Saturday is the Fall Birding Festival at Barr.  Lots of activities and fun for the whole family, but there is a different schedule for visiting the banding station;  if you come, stop at the BCR booth and get info!
