[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Bird Banding Report/ Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- May 16, 2024

A quiet day for birds at the Ranch. Eight birds captured including a first of the season Willow Flycatcher. The Hooded Warbler was still singing and foraging near the banding table. Western Tanager and Ash-throated Flycatcher were heard singing this morning.

12 New Banded Birds
Yellow Warbler- 2
Wilson's Warbler- 1
Willow Flycatcher- 1
American Goldfinch- 1
Lincoln's Sparrow- 1
Hermit Thrush- 1
Swainson's Thrush- 5

1 Recapture
Brown Thrasher

It is a beautiful day to be outside. Enjoy!
The banding station will be open tomorrow and Saturday from Sunrise until @11 am.
Stop by the banding station if you are visiting the Ranch and please share your sightings.

***Remember Chico Basin is open to a limited number of people each day during this month. Please go to the Aiken Audubon Website to register for a morning to visit. There is a daily registration fee.
