[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Report/Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- May 22, 2024

Another slow day on the range... probably due to the thick fog for first couple hours after sunrise. The birds cannot see anything below to know where to land so kept on flying until they could find a suitable stopover spot. It was very quiet and chilly this morning. The best bird of the day was a White-eyed Vireo.

8 New Banded Birds
Yellow Warbler- 2
Common Yellowthroat-1
MacGillivray's Warbler- 1
White-eyed Vireo- 1
Swainson's Thrush- 2
Brown Thrasher- 1

No Recaptures

Hoping for better weather tomorrow. The banding station will be open tomorrow through Saturday Sunrise until @ 11 AM. Stop by and visit- bring us some good luck!

***If wanting to visit Chico Basin, it is open to a limited number of people each day during this month. Please go to the Aiken Audubon Website to register for a morning to visit. There is a daily registration fee.

Have a good day,
