[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Report/Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- May 20, 2024

A Nice day to be outside and finally one of the Western Wood-pewee that has been singing for several days cooperated and now has a band on its leg. Another first of the season we caught was a Second Year and an  After-second Year male Orchard Oriole. Quite handsome in either of their plumages! Fifteen bird species captured today including five warbler species.

Western Wood-pewee- 1

Yellow-breasted Chat- 2

Swainson's Thrush- 9

Gray Catbird- 4

Brown Thrasher- 1

Enjoy the day! The banding station will be open tomorrow through Saturday from Sunrise until @ 11AM. Stop by and visit when you are in the area.

***If wanting to visit Chico Basin, it is open to a limited number of people each day during this month. Please go to the Aiken Audubon Website to register for a morning to visit. There is a daily registration fee.
