[cobirds] Hooded Mergansers (Arapahoe County), Wild Turkeys (Denver County), and Bald Eagles (Adams County) along the South Platte River Trail

Okay, I know, no rarities, but hooded mergansers are one of my absolute favorite Colorado species, and I was thrilled to see two pairs this morning (first-of-season) at around 8 a.m. while cycling, both in Arapahoe County.  The first were about 1/3 mile north of Belleview, and the second 1/4 mile south of Oxford.  As I continued north, I came across three wild turkeys just north of the National Guard post, on the west side of Riverside Cemetery, just north of Franklin St (Denver County).  This was about 9:00 a.m.  Finally, around 10 a.m., two bald eagles circling just south of E 88th Ave. (Adams County).

It was a lovely ride!
