Surf Scoter (Arapahoe, Pueblo)

AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER (Adams, *Douglas)

Dunlin (Jefferson, *Douglas, Larimer)

PARASITIC JAEGER (*Larimer)

Sabine's Gull (reported from several counties; see COBirds for updates)

Western Bluebird (Adams)

SPRAGUE'S PIPIT (*Yuma)

Prothonotary Warbler (Adams)

Black-throated Green Warbler (*Cheyenne)



ADAMS COUNTY:

—On October 11 an American Golden-Plover was reported from Barr Lake (Neidrach Trail) by Charlie Chase.

—On October 9 (2) Western Bluebirds were reported at Rocky Mountain Arsenal by Amanda Borton. Rare in NE Colorado in the fall, there are only a handful of eBird records for Adams.

—On October 9 a (f) Prothonotary Warbler was netted by Meredith McBurney at the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies banding station at Barr Lake. It was a recapture, having been banded on October 8.


ARAPAHOE COUNTY:

—On October 11 (2) Surf Scoters were reported from the southeast corner of Cherry Creek SP by Glenn Walbek.


CHEYENNE COUNTY:

—On October 13 a Black-throated Green Warbler was reported from Cheyenne Wells (town) by David Dowell.


DOUGLAS COUNTY:

—On October 13 an American Golden-Plover was reported at Chatfield SP—Plum Creek Delta; first reported there and at the Marina Sandspit October 12 by Joey Kellner. It was accompanied by other shorebirds, including Black-bellied Plover and Pectoral Sandpiper.


JEFFERSON COUNTY:

—On October 11 a Dunlin was reported at Chatfield SP downstream from Kingfisher Bridge by Claire H.


LARIMER COUNTY:

—On October 13 a PARASITIC JAEGER was reported from Warren Lake; first reported October 12 by Bob Righter. This private lake can be viewed from these locations, provided by Rachel Hopper:

—On October 11 a Tennessee Warbler was reported from the CSU campus by Adrian Strong.

—On October 11 a Dunlin was reported at Timnath Reservoir; found by Nick Komar on the 4th.


PUEBLO COUNTY:

—On October 11 (2) Surf Scoters were reported from Lake Beckwith, Colorado City, by Dave Silverman.


YUMA COUNTY:

—On October 13 SPRAGUE'S PIPIT was reported at Pipit Hill; (3) were first reported 10/5 by David Dowell.
