[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Report - Chatfield, 5/23/19

It was a cold and grey morning, and we opened only part of the station for about 3 hours.  Ready for some sunshine - hopefully tomorrow!  Processed 57 new birds:

House Wren 1
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 1
Swainson's Thrush 7
Hermit Thrush 4
Gray Catbird 5
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Virginia's Warbler 7
Yellow Warbler 4
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 8
MacGillivray's Warbler 3
Wilson's Warbler 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Western Tanager 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 3
Black-headed Grosbeak 2
Red-winged Blackbird 1
Brown-headed Cowbird 1, banded 2016
Bullock's Oriole 1

We will be open daily, WEATHER PERMITTING, through May 31, except for Memorial Day. We are opening nets at 6:30, and most days will have birds back at the station by 7:15. We aim to close by noon most days, earlier if it is very hot, very cold, or very windy. Registration is required for all weekend visitors; see the Denver Audubon website to sign up - we are heading into our last weekend of the season!  Individuals may visit weekdays without registering before the school groups arrive, which is usually around 10 a.m.

Come visit!
