Yesterday and today (Friday, Jan 4), there was a Rough-legged Hawk at the intersection of Hwy 287 and
Isabelle Rd. Both days, the time was about 2-3PM. It moved among various nearby power poles as well
as the stop light structures.
Yesterday, a Prairie Falcon swooped in and commandeered the RL Hawk's perch.
Note that this is an extremely busy intersection with 65 mph traffic north-south and with limited spots to pull over.
I used the parking lot at Isabelle Farm (SW corner of the intersection).
Also about a mile or so NE from the RLHA, today, just south of Jasper Rd and 109th St,
there was a Harlan's Hawk foraging in a field just SE of
the intersection and south of a small horse stable business.
cheers,
jack Harlan
