[cobirds] Near Stearns Lake, Boulder Co

All,

I took a quick trip to Stearns Lake in SE Boulder Co this morning.
I turned south onto 104th St from Dillon Road, and the previously
described Rough-legged Hawk was sitting on the east side of the
104th St bridge over the Northwest Parkway. I then drove about
1/4 mile south to just north of the houses, and stopped because
there was a huge flock of Great-tailed Grackles flying west. They
landed at the feedlot which is about 1/4 mile west of 104th St.
I conservatively estimated the flock at 400 birds. This is 40
times larger than all previous groups of this species that I've
ever seen in Boulder County.

Cheers, Peter Gent.
