[cobirds] Lamar CC Eastern Towhee update

Birders,

I had multiple messages from friends in Lamar that the male Eastern
Towhee I reported on January 5 from the south end of Lamar Community
College was seen and photographed on January 6th, along with two birds I
did not see, Carolina Wren and Harris' Sparrow. I made time to visit LCC
this morning, January 7th.

In the same area where I reported the Eastern Towhee (under cedars and
in kochia in the understory of low Russian Olives straddling the cable
that runs north-south from the houses), I found what is probably a
different Harris' Sparrow, a pair of Northern Cardinals, and finally,
the male Eastern Towhee. I struck out on the Carolina Wren that
yesterday visited a feeder in the yard of one of the houses.

Immediately east of the tennis courts farther north, I found a second
pair of Northern Cardinals and a Brown Thrasher. There are currently two
soccer nets in the grass just west of where the birds were.

Finally, at the far north end of the woods, at the northernmost ravine,
I had a very cooperative calling Carolina Wren. There may be multiple
pairs of this rare Colorado bird in the woods.
