[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Chatfield Banding Station, 5/16/21

We had a lovely banding morning, cut just a little short by drizzle.  22 new birds, including a rare-ish Red-eyed Vireo and our first Bullock's Oriole of the season, and 4 recaptures from prior years, including an adult male American Redstart first banded in 2017.  Here's the breakdown:

Least Flycatcher 1

Dusky Flycatcher 1

Red-eyed Vireo 1

House Wren 2

Gray Catbird 3 new, 1 banded 2018

Yellow Warbler 4 new, 1 banded 2018, 1 banded 2019

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 1

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 5

American Redstart, 1 banded 2017

McGillivray's Warbler 1

Common Yellowthroat 1

Brown-headed Cowbird 1

Bullock's Oriole 1

We are open six days per week (closed Tuesdays) through May 30, weather permitting.  While some COVID related restrictions remain in place there are opportunities most mornings for the public to visit, but reservations are required. Visit https://denveraudubon.org/events/ for more information and to sign-up.  Because each hour-long session is limited to 10 people, we anticipate selling out most mornings, so register soon if you are interested.
