The Spizella action continued early this morning, with big numbers of arriving sparrows diving into the willows and brush again, but slowing down by about 830. I didn't put up five of my
nets that get heavy sparrow traffic, but still managed to catch 55 Chipping Sparrows, and 22 Clay-colored Sparrows (165 now, compared with 38 my previous best season).
Today more warblers appeared again, coming in all morning, with 14 Wilson's (all juv birds), and singles of Yellow (Ad F, late), and MacGillivray's (Ad F). 97 birds caught this morning, by 9:30.
Looks like we are in for another clear and hot spell, so I don't expect these numbers to continue next week.
