We finished off our second week with a relatively quiet day. After a really busy week, it was nice to have a little more time with each bird. We caught our 3rd and 4th Ovenbirds. All hatch year birds. We've only caught 4 in a season once before, in 2002. Also enjoyed our first Brown Thrasher. Here's the breakdown of the 29 new birds:

Tomorrow is Monday, so we will be closed. We will be back bright and early on Tuesday, weather permitting. We are opening nets at 6:30 and should have birds back at the station by 7:15. We will close most days by about 11:30. School groups
arrive most weekdays at about 9:30. The best time to visit (fewest people, most birds) is before 9:30 weekdays and Sundays. Meredith McBurney
