[cobirds] Crow Valley Campground (Weld) on 10/23

It was cool and blustery and felt great this morning at Crow Valley Campground.  Weather changes seem to either bring birds, or remove birds.  Mostly I'd say the transition between yesterday (rainy) and today (mostly sunny) was the latter.  Highlights from a walk about between 8 and 11am:

Sandhill Cranes (three small flocks totaling about 200 birds)
Golden-crowned Kinglet (1)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (2)
Dark-eyed Junco (8)
Hairy Woodpecker (mountain form, 1)
Downy Woodpecker (eastern form, 2)
Hermit Thrush (1)
Brown Creeper (1)
Eastern Bluebird (4) saw one catch and eat a Red-winged Grasshopper (Arphia pseudonietana)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (2)
Red-bellied Woodpecker (1m)
Townsend's Solitaire (1)
Merlin (1)
Pine Siskin (1 or 2, heard only as a flyover)
Lapland Longspur (heard)
And rarest of the lot at Crow Valley, an American Crow.

Total of 26 species
