I joined up with the Audubon trip to Hereford Ranch last Saturday. We were treated by Dr Hale (Owner) with access to the western portion of the property accessing Crow Creek riparian corridor from (new) Campstool Road (water treatment plant on west side) to the Hereford Reservoir two miles to the west. Dr Hale said call them up if you wish to access this section of Hereford Ranch. Dr Hale was great leader shared the history of the ranch and you can tell by his passion how much he loves the ranch.--
Once you get permission (http://wyomingherefordranch.com/contact.htm ) to access--you take Old Campstool Road (dirt road just before (.2m) Hereford Ranch driveway on west) about .5m (or 1.0m) to two gated entrances. Open and close gates behind you--even the interior ones. They own property from the Water Treatment fence line all the way to the reservoir about a two mile hike along Crow Creek.
I was tracking the birds during the trip:
Canada Goose Mallard Red-tailed Hawk Belted Kingfisher Downy Woodpecker Northern Flicker *Red-bellied Woodpecker* Blue Jay Black-billed Magpie Common Raven Horned Lark Black-capped Chickadee Mountain Chickadee Red-breasted Nuthatch *Eastern Bluebird (2)* Mountain Bluebird American Robin European Starling Yellow-rumped Warbler Song Sparrow White-crowned Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco House Finch American Goldfinch House Sparrow
