[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch (El Paso/Pueblo) - sparrows vs. duck hunting

COBirders,

Duck season starts Wednesday at Chico Basin Ranch and in Colorado’s Southeast Zone of the Central Flyway.  The season is already underway at other locations in Colorado where you may bird.   For those still wanting to look for the Nelson’s Sparrow after today, Wednesday may not be the best choice.  Because of the hunting fee, there aren’t many duck hunters at Chico but Upper Twin Pond, especially the dam area, is one of the favorite duck hunting areas. The areas and dates below are only for ducks and coots.  Light and dark geese have their own dates.  There could be more duck hunting at Chico this year because of the severe drought in other parts of the state.
