Mark Yaeger and I walked around Pueblo City Park from 930am to 11am. There were a lot of birds. The best things were ten Red Crossbills, an Evening Grosbeak, two Pygmy Nuthatches, a Yellow-shafted Flicker, and six Chipping Sparrows. There were plenty of other small birds, including Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches, Brown Creepers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Mountain and Black-capped Chickadees, Townsend's Solitaires, Dark-eyed Juncos, Cedar Waxwings, American Robins. We also saw a few Yellow-rumped Warblers, no flock. We could hear some Yellow-rumped Warblers inside the Pueblo Zoo, so perhaps the bigger flock of warblers were in there. Maybe sometime soon, I will walk around inside the zoo, and see what might be hiding in there.
Good birding,
