Hello All,
After visiting Red Rocks this morning, I drove the roads in Bear
Creek Lake Park (BCLP). The most interesting birds seen along the
roads included a first year Harris's Sparrow, 3 Northern Shrikes, and
a Prairie Falcon.
The Harris's Sparrow was alone along the road right after entering the
park - about halfway between the stop sign and the Cottontail Picnic
Area.
Boat Launch Area - mixed flock of American Tree Sparrows, Song & White-
crowned Sparrows.
Mountain View Area - saw a Northern Shrike fly quite a distance and
chase a small bird out of a shrub, American Kestrel and Prairie
Falcon, and Mountain Bluebirds.
Indian Paintbrush Campground - adult Northern Shrike on the west side.
Horse Arena Area - juvenile Northern Shrike and small flock of
Mountain Bluebirds.
