[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Chico Basin Ranch Banding Report 5/6

Well migration remains slow but seems to be picking up just a bit. Today we caught 14 birds of 10 species and it felt a bit more like spring, with Bullock's Orioles chattering and warbler chip notes (other than the Yellow-rumps!) coming from the trees. We had our first MacGillivray's Warbler and Northern Waterthrush and also sighted (but did not band) a Blackpoll Warbler. Here are our totals from today:

Orange-crowned Warbler - 1
House Wren - 2
Yellow-rumped 'Myrtle' Warbler - 1
Northern Waterthrush - 1
MacGillivray's Warbler - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 3
Hermit Thrush - 2
'Gambel's' White-crowned Sparrow - 1
Spotted Towhee - 1
American Robin - 1 recapture from 2019

We are open 3 days per week (Friday - Sunday) through May 30th. We'll also be open Thurs May 20th. Chico Basin Ranch is once again open to the public and visitors are welcome at the banding station, click here for more details on visiting.
