Seen about 12:30pm. This is a rather late date for this species, with most yellow-bellies that have wintered at this site historically leaving in March. It was in the pair of Austrian Pines just out on City Park 9 golf course due s of the boundary roads between Grandview Cemetery Sections 2 and 7 (this is about midway along the cemetery's south boundary road about 50 yards e of the gray portapotty). These two pines, one forked, one not, are fairly tall. I saw the bird in both pines, which were used last winter by a male Yellow-bellied and a few weeks ago by at least one male Red-naped.
Bird's throat is all white, red cap, back is smudgy light gray-brown, no red on nape. Only feature not exactly in keeping with the breed standard is the black stripe lining the white throat appears incomplete in one little area at the back (see photo).
