Hey COBirders,
While numbers have been down so far this month banding at Clear Spring Ranch, fall migration is officially underway.
Today I banded the first Northern Waterthrush of the season (hatch year bird) and the first two Wilson's Warblers (hy female, adult female). Not rare, but fun to finally see!
Also, Yellow Warblers continue, with 25 banded in the last week. They will be mostly gone by Labor Day.
FYI if it is clear tonight, it is prime to scan the face of the moon with a spotting scope and watch the migrant passerines cross the face. Too fun.
