Early this week a homeowner in the Meadows Subdivision of Castle Rock saw and photographed a Costa's Hummingbird. He and his daughter saw it in early morning and late afternoon for two days. By the time Urling & I got over there, we saw no sign of the critter. (We didn't post because it's a private site -- invitation only I'm afraid.
They haven't seen it for 3 days or so, but maybe it's moved north into Castle Pines. The site lies on the northern edge of the Meadows, and the bird could have gone on to somewhere more accessible to the public.
We regret that we couldn't see it, and regret more that Cobirders couldn't access the site.
