[cobirds] Re: Pinyon Jay and Red Breasted Nuthatch Horseshoe Park, Aurora

I live in Thornton and I have also had a Pinyon Jay and a Nuthatch feeding at my feeders for over a month. This would be a first for me too.

Two new yard birds for me.

I had seen the jay for about a week at the feeders and never took a close look, thinking it was a Scrub Jay ( also a new yard bird ).

Upon further review it's all blue, no white and has the short tail of a Pinyon, this puts it way out of habitat and without it's usual flock association.

Also had a female Coopers Hawk kill and pluck a Eurasian Collared Dove in my yard till it finally flew off with a half carcass.
