Hello, Birders.
This evening, Sunday, Oct. 20, while Andrew and I were out looking for rocks at Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County, we came upon a flock of Zonotrichia sparrows: mainly White-crowned Sparrows of course, but also a White-throated Sparrow. The flock was moving around a bit, but the birds were in the general vicinity of the southwestern corner of Greenlee Preserve, which is the same as the northwestern corner of Waneka Lake.
I'm guessing they'll spend the night. Or maybe, with the weather letting up as it is right now, they're already on nocturnal migration.
